Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) Program
The Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) program was conducted with great enthusiasm over three impactful days, from 25th to 27th June 2025, at Sri Chamundeshwari Medical College, Hospital & Research Institute, organized by the Medical Education Unit (MEU). The program was held under the observation of the NMC-appointed observer, Dr. Vanitha Gowda, Professor of Biochemistry, MS Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, ensuring full alignment with NMC protocols and standards.
The event commenced with a brief yet meaningful inaugural function, setting the tone for the workshop. Sessions were carefully curated and delivered by the experienced MEU faculty, who transformed theoretical concepts into lively, participative discussions. A total of 30 participants, thoughtfully divided into five collaborative groups, actively engaged in hands-on activities and reflective exercises.
Each day began at 9:00 AM and concluded by 5:00 PM, interspersed with energizing breaks, fun tasks, and refreshment sessions that maintained high levels of engagement and camaraderie. The faculty’s passionate delivery and the participants’ vibrant involvement created a dynamic learning environment.
At the end of each day, participant feedback was collected to continually enhance the experience, while daily rapporteurs delivered crisp summaries the following morning. The NMC observer regularly contributed rich insights and timely interventions, further deepening the educational value of each module.
On the final day, the concluding session featured thoughtful feedback from the NMC observer, followed by a warm felicitation ceremony and joyful certificate distribution.
The BCME program emerged as a journey of transformation—rekindling the educators’ passion and reaffirming their commitment to student-centred, competency-driven learning. The event concluded with a collective resolve to innovate, inspire, and lead the future of medical education with renewed purpose.
