National Doctor’s Day 2025

“Happy Doctor’s Day! Thank you for your unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to healing and saving lives”
National Doctors Day in India has its origins way back in 1991 when the Indian government formally announced July 1st as Doctors Day. This is the day when Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned doctor and prominent personality in India’s medical and political affairs, was born and died. Dr. Roy played a pioneering role in establishing the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and medical colleges and hospitals in India.

The National Doctors’ Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence on 1st July 2025 at the ACS Auditorium, Sri Chamundeshwari Medical College Hospital and Research Institute. This year’s theme, “Behind the Mask: Caring for Caregivers,” along with a CME on “Robotic Surgeries and Recent Advances in Oncology,” paid tribute to the dedication, compassion, and relentless service of the medical fraternity. The event also commemorated the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, an iconic figure in Indian medicine.
