Physiology Department
The study of physiology focuses on how the body functions. It explains the chemistry and physics of fundamental bodily processes, ranging from the interactions of molecules in cells to the coordination of organ systems. It aids in allowing the doctors to comprehend how a healthy body functions in daily life and what goes wrong when someone is ill.
Course Description & Detail
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- Describe the typical operation of all the organ systems in the body and how they interact by the end of the course.
- Describe how each organ system contributes to the preservation of homeostasis.
- Explain how the physiological processes that underlie appropriate growth and development.
Describe how the body reacts to stress in the environment and how it adapts. - What physiological concepts underlie illness causation and treatment?
- Conduct experiments that are primarily intended to investigate physiological phenomena or to evaluate function.
- Critically examine and analyse the results of experiments and research.
- Separate data from tests he or she has performed and witnessed in the lab into normal and abnormal ranges.
