Pediatrics is a branch of medicine which deals with medical care of infants and children. It is concerned with the well being of infants, children and adolescents including psychological growth and development.

The department of pediatrics, SCMCH&RI, provides dedicated health service to infants and children. It’s a tertiary care centre providing excellent care and treating the various challenging childhood illnesses.
The PICU and NICU faculty members are well experienced, enthusiastic and compassionate in treating and monitoring sick children. It’s a referral centre for critically ill children and promotes health care for the needy.

The department encompasses many subspecialty clinics on weekly basis to expand and promote the health services.
Well baby clinic and high risk specialty clinics assess the growth and neurological development of NICU graduates and regular follow of high risk infants is undertaken.

Apart from these immunization clinics, adolescent clinic, pulmonology clinic, neurology clinic, hematology clinic, cardiology clinic and nephrology clinic function throughout the year. Best infrastructure and facilities guided by experienced faculty for teaching and promotion of research activities. A curriculum designed by the department for the undergraduates and post graduates to become competent and preparing them for higher education

Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get Migration certificate from respective State & Eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
