SCMCH&RI Secures Second Place at ISLMCON 2026

The students of SCMCH&RI secured Second Place (cash prize of Rs. 10,000) in the Student Parliament competition at ISLMCON 2026, Hyderabad, competing against some of the leading institutions across India, bring prestige to the institution.

The competition had three challenging rounds:
Round 1 – Proposal Submission: 12 teams from across India participated, with the majority representing central institutes, including various AIIMS.
Round 2 – Online Presentation: 9 shortlisted teams advanced to present their proposals.
Round 3 – Grand Finale: The final round was contested between AIIMS Nagpur and SCMCH&RI.

The Challenge? Implementing the NIN 2024 guidelines for children in rural areas with a budget of ₹10,000 crore, followed by an emergency crisis scenario in which the budget was slashed to ₹5,000 crore.

Our students took on the roles of central ministers:

  • Ankush B M – Home Minister
  • Prerana – Health Minister
  • Preksha K N – Education Minister
  • Rajath M M – Finance Minister

With just 40 minutes of preparation and only 10 minutes to present, they demonstrated remarkable teamwork, critical thinking, policy analysis, decision-making, and the ability to respond to an unexpected crisis.
Although they secured the second prize, the extremely positive feedback from the judges and mentors was a true testament to their performance. Competing in the final round against AIIMS Nagpur and earning such appreciation is an achievement in itself!

Heartiest congratulations to our students! We are immensely proud of their confidence, competence, and the way they represented SCMCH&RI on a national platform.
