State Level Psychiatry Quiz for Medical Undergraduates
On 22nd May, 2026 Sri Chamundeshwari Medical College, Hospital and Research Institute successfully organized the State Level Psychiatry Quiz for Undergraduate Medical Students at the SCMCH Campus from 9:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.
Each participating medical college was permitted to register two teams with two students per team. The competition witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 50 teams and over 100 undergraduate medical students participating from institutions across Karnataka.
The event commenced with a preliminary round from which the top 6 teams qualified to the finals. This was followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Shivakumar B K. Professor & Hod, Department of Psychiatry.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Pravin G.U Principal and Dr. Nanjaraju C.P, Dr Manjula A Patil Vice-Principals of SCMCH & RI and Dr Narayan R Mutalik, Honorary secretary of IPS-KC, Dr. Guru S Gowda, Honorary Treasurer of IPS-KC by lighting the lamp.
Dr. Pravin G. U, Principal and Dr. Narayan R Mutalik took to the stage to address the gathering, highlighting the importance of psychiatry education and encouraged students to actively engage in academic competitions. The Guests of Honour, Dr. Narayan R Mutalik and Dr. Guru. S. Gowda were felicitated by the dignitaries f in recognition of their presence and support.
The final round of the quiz showcased exceptional knowledge, quick thinking, and healthy competition among the qualifying teams. During the valedictory ceremony, the top three teams were awarded cash prizes of ₹5,000, ₹3,000, and ₹2,000, respectively, along with certificates of achievement.
The prizes were distributed by Dr. Narayan R Mutalik and Dr. Guru. S. Gowda followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Harini K.C.
