World Mental Health Day – 2024

On the occasion of "World Mental Health Day 2024”, Department of Psychiatry, SCMCH&RI organized a guest lecture for students, interns and faculty.
Objectives:
- Raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma about mental illness and promote mental well-being.
- Highlight the importance of mental health in the workplace.
- To orient newly joined medical graduates about stress and time management.
The event began with an inaugural address by Dr. B. K. Shivakumar, Professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry.
The highlight was a highly interactive and informative session led by our esteemed guest speaker, Dr. Kishore M., Professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at JSS Medical College and Hospital (JSSAHE&R), Mysore. In a ceremonial moment, Dr. Kishore was felicitated for his contribution.
As part of the World Mental Health Day celebrations, the Department also conducted Poster Making and Short Video Competitions, where the best two entries from each section were awarded certificates by the guest speaker.
Kudos to the Department of Psychiatry for successfully organizing this impactful event! We look forward to more enlightening sessions in the future.
