Training medical officers on Substance Use Disorder

Participants: 25 medical officers from PHC’s and CHC’s of Ramangara District
Objective: To enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of medical officers in identifying,assessing, and managing Substance Use Disorder (SUD) cases effectively.
Key highlights:
1. The training program was conducted in the presence of District Mental Health Program (DMHP) officer, Dr. Kumar and DMHP Psychiatrist, Dr. Adarsh
2. Emphasis was placed on the importance of screening, diagnosis, management, motivation enhancement, and relapse prevention in SUD, including substances such as alcohol, nicotine, opioids, and cannabis.
3. Case scenarios were discussed, allowing for active interaction among the medical officers.
