World Environment Day 2026
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, Sri Chamundeshwari Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (SCMCH&RI), Channapatna, organized and participated in an environmental awareness and plantation program at Madanaikanahalli village. The program was organized by the Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with village pramukhs at the premises of Sri Siddarameshwara Temple.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members of SCMCH&RI, Phase III MBBS students, local citizens, and PDO officials. The program aimed to create awareness regarding environmental conservation and promote community participation in green initiatives.
Sri K. Rajanna, Village Head and President of Sri Patalamma Charitable Trust, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of preserving and protecting the environment. He appreciated the plantation efforts undertaken in the village, particularly the trees planted along the roadsides, and expressed happiness over the active participation of students in environmental conservation activities. Mr. Mahesh, Member of Sri Patalamma Charitable Trust, was also present on the occasion.
