CME ON “Art of Learning Heart”
The Department of Anatomy, Sri Chamundeshwari Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, successfully organized its first Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled “Art of Learning Heart” on Thursday, 8th February 2024, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
The CME is for 1st year students as a continuation of vertical integration teaching program and also for the faculty.
Objective of the CME deals about development of Heart and its anomalies. It also covers ECG, Radiography, Cardiac emergencies & its management. The CME is followed by hands on workshop on BLS – CPR or Basic cardiac support.
KMC has awarded 2 credit hours for the delegates who will attend the same.
The CME was conducted as part of the vertical integration teaching program and was attended by first-year MBBS students and faculty members. The program aimed to strengthen the understanding of cardiac anatomy and its clinical relevance through an integrated academic approach.
The scientific sessions focused on the development of the heart and its congenital anomalies, along with clinically oriented topics such as electrocardiography (ECG), cardiac radiography, cardiac emergencies, and their management. The sessions effectively bridged basic anatomical concepts with applied and clinical perspectives, fostering active learning and interdisciplinary understanding.
The academic deliberations were followed by a hands-on workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), which provided participants with practical training in essential life-saving skills.
The program was well received by the delegates and contributed significantly to enhancing both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies. The Karnataka Medical Council (KMC) awarded 2 credit hours to the delegates who attended the CME.
The event marked a successful academic initiative by the Department of Anatomy and reflected its commitment to innovative teaching, clinical integration, and continuous medical education.
