Kannada Rajyotsava 2025
Karnataka Rajyotsava also known as Karnataka State Day or Kannada Day is celebrated annually on 1 November in the Indian state of Karnataka. It commemorates the merger in 1956 of the Kannada-speaking regions of southwestern India under the States Reorganisation Act to form the state in Bangalore.
On 26th November 2025, “Chetana – Nade Kannada, Nudi Kannada”, a vibrant cultural programme, was organized by the Cultural Team of Sri Chamundeshwari Group of Institutions to celebrate the 70th Kannada Rajyotsava.
The programme was held under the guidance of Chairman Dr. A. C. Shanmugam, President Mr. A. C. S. Arun Kumar, and Chairperson Smt. Lalitha Lakshmi.The event was honoured by the presence of Executive Director Shri S. Vijayanand; CEO Shri C. N. Seetharam, IAS (Retd.); Advisor Dr. Naveen S; Principal Dr. Praveen G. U; Medical Superintendent Dr. Roshan Kumar B. N; Principal, SCCON, Mrs. Ashwini K. M; Principal, SCCOP, Dr. P. Vijay Kumar; Principal, SCIAHS, Dr. Santosh Kumar M; Principal, SCIPMS, Dr. Yogesh M. K; Vice-Principal, SCMCH & HOD, Department of Radio-diagnosis, Dr. Nanjaraj; and Vice-Principal, SCMCH & Professor, Department of OBG, Dr. Manjula A. Patil.
The esteemed presence of Mr. R. Srinivas Gowda, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Bengaluru South District, added prestige to the occasion.The event commenced with a floral tribute to Goddess Bhuvaneshwari by the dignitaries. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Praveen G. U, followed by an introduction of the Chief Guest by Dr. Manjula K. S, Chairperson of the Cultural Committee, highlighting his notable achievements.
The Chief Guest then addressed the gathering with a compelling and insightful speech that deeply resonated with the audience. He encouraged students to reflect on the shared responsibility of medical institutions and law-enforcement agencies in strengthening community welfare and public safety. He also engaged with students on practical perspectives of contemporary issues, including cyber safety, the rising incidence of cybercrimes in Bengaluru, the importance of FIR verification, adherence to legal procedures, and the critical value of the “Golden Hour” in reporting cyber fraud for timely action.
Dr. Roshan Kumar B. N, Medical Superintendent, SCMCH & RI, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers. The formal programme concluded with the National Anthem.The celebrations continued with a series of engaging cultural performances, including group dances, a short play on the Kadamba and Pallava dynasties, songs, solo and group dance presentations, and a cultural dress parade.Competitions were also conducted for students and staff, and the prize distribution ceremony showcased the enthusiastic participation and talent of all.

The day left every heart filled with pride, love, and respect for our Kasthuri Kannada language, reaffirming how fortunate we are to be Kannadigas.
